Are you taking new NHS patients?+

We are only able to accept children under the age of 18 who have a family member registered at the practice.

Why are you not accepting any adults on the NHS?+

Due to the lack of funding, also fewer dentists are willing to provide NHS care and the constant increasing costs, we are unfortunately unable to accept any adults on the NHS.

I am currently registered as an NHS patient at the practice. I do not pay for treatment as I have an exemption. Will the practice be able to treat me under my exemption?+

We have been able to keep a small NHS contract so we can continue to treat our current registered exempt patients on the NHS.

Could you tell me which exemptions are covered by the NHS contract?+

  • Under 18
  • Under 19 and in full-time education
  • Pregnant or have had a baby in the last 12 months
  • Income Support
  • Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit with Savings Credit
  • Universal Credit(depending on your earnings)

How often do I have to have an appointment to stay registered on the NHS?+

We encourage our patients to attend regular appointments, the time frame between appointments is individual to each patient however you are only registered on the NHS at the practice for two years.

If I don’t come within the two-year window will I lose my registration under the NHS?+

Yes, your NHS registration will be lost, these NHS places are limited due to the small contract we managed to preserve.

If I lose my registration what happens?+

You will be offered a place on the private scheme at the practice.

My child has just turned 18 what now?+

Your child will automatically be registered on our UDP scheme.

My child is 18 and still in full time education will he/she be registered on the UDP scheme?+

Your child will still be able to be treated under the NHS care, until he/she turns 19 years old then he/she will automatically be registered onto the UDP scheme.

I am currently being treated on your UDP scheme; however I am pregnant?+

You will be able to be treated under NHS care until your exemption finishes.

My circumstances have changed I am being treated on the UDP scheme, but I now have an exemption that covers me for free NHS dental care?+

If you have an exemption which covers you for free NHS dental care you will be able to be registered as a NHS patient for the period of your exemption.
